Tetra Tech International Development Services is seeking a qualified individual to join their Agriculture and Economic Growth (AEG) Sector as a Staff Associate. This position offers the flexibility to work fully remotely from a continental US-based location or in a hybrid capacity within a commutable distance to one of Tetra Tech’s office locations in Burlington, VT, or Arlington, VA.

Position Description:

The AEG Sector spearheads Tetra Tech’s international efforts in agriculture, economic growth, disaster risk finance, and private sector development. The Staff Associate will be responsible for providing day-to-day support for ongoing AEG programs, contributing to new business development opportunities, and enhancing technical skills in various areas such as disaster risk finance, agricultural value chain development, and market systems enhancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in project management and contract compliance, including logistics coordination, budget management, recruiting personnel, and client communications.
  • Support proposal development, marketing, client communications, and professional network development.
  • Contribute to the provision of high-quality work in technical areas and support AEG’s Thought Leadership and Positioning Strategy through research and technical communications.
  • Collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams, both in the home office and the field, demonstrating strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economic development, business management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional services firm or similar organization.
  • Prior experience in agricultural technical assistance programming in developing and transitioning countries.
  • Knowledge of international donor projects, particularly USAID-funded projects.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams with strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required; professional proficiency in Spanish required. Proficiency in another language such as French, Russian, or Arabic is a plus.
  • Strong skills in MS Office and familiarity with databases.
  • Current US work authorization required.
