Job Summary

The Education Specialist at IRC coordinates educational services for new arrival adult clients and their children, facilitating classes, including cultural orientation and job readiness training. Responsibilities include teaching, outreach to community resources, and connecting clients to external English language services.

Major Responsibilities

  • Educational Service Coordination: Schedule, enroll, and register adult education classes.
  • Teaching & Facilitation: Conduct multilingual classes, provide transit training, and incorporate computer-based learning.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with Caseworkers, distribute materials, and connect clients to external services.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Track attendance, participate in meetings, and ensure compliance with policies and grant requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
  • TESOL certification or two years of TESOL instruction experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in adult education programs.
