Job Overview

The Interpreter I facilitates accurate, impartial, and confidential interpretation services to Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and their service providers, both in-person and remotely. Responsibilities include professional interpretation, tracking assignments, and occasional training participation.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and confidential interpretation to LEP individuals and service providers in various settings, utilizing in-person, telephone, or virtual methods.
  • Track assignments and work hours using designated software.
  • Participate in training sessions and assessments.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Certifications: High school diploma strongly preferred, interpretation certification preferred.
  • Work Experience: Relevant professional interpretation experience preferred, experience with refugee or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies: Cultural sensitivity, proficiency in English and spoken Arabic, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and reliable transportation.

Working Environment

Combination of standard office work, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
