Background

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) seeks expertise in assessing and revising the Pre-Service Training for Supervisors and Private Service Providers (PSPs) of Child Optimized Financial Education (COFE) as part of the Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth Project (SOCY) in Uganda.

Project Overview

COFE is a financial education curriculum aimed at supporting caregivers of vulnerable children in planning, saving, and investing in education, nutrition, and health expenses. The curriculum addresses key themes such as HIV, child protection, and effective communication about finances. CRS has identified the need for additional training for supervisors and PSPs to enhance their understanding of critical topics and improve engagement with COFE participants.

Objectives

  1. Assessment: Evaluate the perceived usefulness, alignment with participant needs, format, duration, quality of facilitation, and trainer orientation of the existing pre-service training.
  2. Redesign: Restructure the pre-service training manual, quizzes, and job aides to enhance effectiveness across diverse project portfolios. Develop self-contained modules for adaptable training.
  3. Training Preparation: Enhance the preparation of pre-service trainers to ensure effective delivery.
