Job Overview:

The International Rescue Committee in Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic candidate to join the Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP), funded by the US Department of Homeland Security. As the Casework Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of case management services to asylum seekers, playing a vital role in ensuring program success and compliance.


Major Responsibilities:

Core Service Delivery:

  • Guide the implementation of the Asylum Seekers Case Management Project, ensuring timely completion of all core services.
  • Assign cases to caseworkers and ensure the provision of essential services, including mental health and legal screenings.
  • Facilitate internal and external referrals in collaboration with other departments.

Partnership Building:

  • Identify and maintain relationships with local government and community-based organizations to connect clients with necessary benefits and services.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships to improve efficiency and budgetary savings.

Documentation, Reporting, and Contract Compliance:

  • Maintain case file documentation in compliance with sub-contract requirements.
  • Review reports, make recommendations, and ensure timely program updates.
  • Assist in preparations for monitoring visits by various agencies.

Staff Supervision and Other Responsibilities:

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive environment for team members and clients.
  • Recruit, train, and manage team according to IRC’s standards.
  • Provide daily oversight of active caseload, intervening when necessary to ensure client-centered service delivery.
  • Represent IRC in public and governmental forums as required.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, preferably in social work or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of two to three years of experience in implementing domestic refugee resettlement or similar programs.
  • Two to three years of experience in supervising, supporting, and training staff strongly preferred.
  • Experience in program management and budget management preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish, Russian, or Wolof is a plus.

Working Environment:

  • Combination of standard office environment and fieldwork in the service delivery area.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
