Job Summary:

As the Director of Grants Management at CARE USA, you’ll lead the end-to-end grants cycle for private donor grants, overseeing a team responsible for stewarding over 200 restricted grants valued at $250 million. With strategic direction and leadership, you’ll manage complex grants, support proposal development, and ensure compliance with donor requirements, contributing directly to CARE USA’s fundraising goals.

Responsibilities:

Staff Management and Quality Control:

  • Lead a team of Grants Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and strategic direction.

Direct Management of Complex Grants:

  • Manage a portfolio of grants across the full award cycle, serving as the main point of contact for assigned grants.
  • Review proposals, ensure budget alignment, and facilitate approval processes.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and other stakeholders to meet donor requirements and maintain accurate records.

Grants Lifecycle Process Improvements:

  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain processes critical to grants management efficiency.
  • Implement workflow improvements to enhance grants management at CARE USA.

Special Projects and Organizational Insights:

  • Undertake special projects to support fundraising success, such as stewardship around unrestricted grants.
  • Develop dashboards and monitoring tools to improve visibility and enhance decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business management.
  • 8+ years of experience in grants management or finance, with 5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
