Digital Community Officer

Program & Job Overview:

Implemented by the IRC, the Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange (CORE), a technical assistance program, connects and supports refugee resettlement staff globally to deliver effective Cultural Orientation which helps newcomers achieve self-sufficiency in the United States.

Settle In, available in multiple languages, is CORE’s digital information service that directly engages newcomers through its website ( mobile app, and social media platforms. Settle In serves as another touchpoint to disseminate vital, accurate information tied to resettlement services.

The Digital Community Officer will oversee three newcomer-facing social media language teams who directly engage with newcomers, translate materials, and produce videos in five languages (Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian). This person will oversee a team of eight with direct reports. This position reports to CORE’s Senior Digital Communications Officer.

This position is funded by and will help support IRC’s Virtual Reception & Placement (VR&P) program, which aims to receive and resettle up to 10,000 individuals from the Western Hemisphere this year.

Economic Empowerment Manager

Job Overview: The Economic Empowerment Manager coordinates the development, implementation, and completion of all grants, contracts and activities related to the Economic Empowerment department, including early employment, workforce, small business development, and financial capabilities. Responsibilities include supervision of all department staff to ensure program compliance.

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:

Oversight of Programs

  • Effectively lead the development, implementation, compliance, and completion of Economic Empowerment grants and contracts.
  • Responsible for the development of grant proposals and reports related to all areas of contracts and grants within the department.
  • Supervise the provision of services through regular and systematic case file reviews, and quality assurance protocols including data QA to ensure compliance with donor requirements and provision of quality services.
  • Lead all aspects of department program budget and manage expenses to ensure costs are maintained within allocated budgets.

ESOL Instructor (Middle/High School)

The IRC is seeking an ESOL instructor to create and implement an English language curriculum for true beginners through intermediate-level students for Upper School (Grades 6-12). The ESOL Teacher will instruct up to 12 lessons each week. The classes will be held between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm, Monday – Thursday.

Following pre-program training, the ESOL Teacher will be expected to understand how their contributions fit into the larger Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model for supporting students at the Academy and liaise with other professionals accordingly, especially the classroom teaching staff and the Student Support Team.

Finance Intern

SCOPE OF WORK: The IRC is seeking a multifaceted Finance Intern to assist the Finance Manager with payment processing, vendor management, and data entry. This position will be based in the Louisville, KY office for at least 10 hours per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters, and 20 hours per week during the summer (June-August).


  • Handle sensitive client information confidentially.
  • Assist Finance Manager in entry and completion of staff time and effort reporting.
  • Assist Finance Manager as required with AP/AR processing.
  • Assist with month-end close.

Program Manager, Education

Job Overview:

The program manager of education ensures that the New Jersey Office for Refugees (NJOR) portfolio of education programs is best in class through responsibilities in three main areas: sub-award management, technical support, and business development.

The program manager oversees the development of education-focused sub-awards for partner agencies and the subsequent monitoring of partner performance and report submission to donors. Awards include Refugee School Impact (RSI), Refugee Youth Mentoring (RYM), and English Language Training (ELT).

The Program Manager coordinates developing and disseminating materials and resources that provide technical support for sub-award partner agencies and other statewide refugee education stakeholders. The Program Manager also focuses on project management, program implementation, stakeholder outreach and education, and networking as needed to advance the education goals and strategies of NJOR.

The Program Manager will report to the Senior Program Officer and partner with NJOR staff, project colleagues at sub-award agencies, and other stakeholders.
