Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting Tools: Assist in supporting online collaboration tools and business process automation solutions for UNDP Country Offices using leading cloud corporate application portfolio including Microsoft Office 365, Oracle Cloud ERP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
  • Application Development: Aid in the development of applications utilizing PowerApps for business processes, transitioning manual and paper-based processes to cloud-based functions. Participate in building mobile-enabled data entry, approvals, and reporting applications using PowerApps and Flow.
  • Data Analysis: Support in collecting, consolidating, and analyzing data for project-tracking, and data visualization utilizing Excel, Power BI, and other business intelligence tools. Enhance online reports and dashboards for internal and external use.
  • User Interface Enhancement: Assist in enhancing user interfaces of existing apps based on UI/UX best practices and user acceptance testing. Contribute to improving UNDP business procedures, instructions, and templates.
  • Project Development: Creatively support the development of new projects for innovative collaboration and business process automation systems and tools to be disseminated to UNDP offices as best practices for improvement of operations and business efforts.


  • Technological Expertise: Interest and understanding of software engineering and sustainable development-oriented areas of work.
  • Innovation: Interest in developing smart solutions for UNDP, focusing on ICT services. Promote a client service-oriented culture within the unit, connecting with current theories and practices in Design Thinking, Service Design, and Customer Experience.
  • Problem Solving: Good analytical skills in gathering and consolidating data for practical implementation.
  • Teamwork: Effective communication skills when working in a team, with the ability to work independently with a proactive attitude and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Planning and Organization: Proficient in organizing and structuring various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaboration: Display sensitivity and adaptability to diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Learning Commitment: Approach work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program.
  • Experience: Knowledge in IT, computer science, or business management. Familiarity with Microsoft cloud technologies, Microsoft Office productivity tools, and specific Office 365 tools is advantageous.
  • Skills: Experience or ability in using business intelligence tools, relational databases, web analytics tools, and programming languages is desirable.


  • Stipend: Monthly stipend provided based on duty location. Other expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern.
  • Insurance: Interns are responsible for securing adequate medical insurance for the duration of the internship.
  • Employment Expectation: The internship is not intended to lead to further employment with UNDP, but to complement an intern’s studies.
