Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Manager for Budgeting and Compliance at International Republican Institute (IRI) will lead revenue planning and supervise the cost side of the business development team. This role involves collaborating with division leadership, overseeing cost application processes, and ensuring compliance with donor regulations. This hybrid role requires expertise in USG-funded projects, international development, and financial management.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Business Development Team Management

  • Lead revenue planning with division leadership to support revenue goals.
  • Advise on planning discussions to allocate funds for new business efforts.
  • Supervise Senior Cost Specialists and oversee the overall operations of the Cost Team.

Cost Team Leadership and Oversight

  • Provide oversight to Cost Team personnel and manage cost application volume.
  • Collaborate with the BD Technical Team to align strategy with day-to-day operations.
  • Support revenue progress updates to the Front Office and the board.

Cost Application Management

  • Oversee cost application process for all IRI business development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and contribute to policy design and implementation.
  • Lead the cost application development process for key strategic bids.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in USG-funded projects, with expertise in leading cost application development.
  • Ability to lead independently and within a team, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, and working knowledge of federal government circulars.
  • Innovative, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
