Job Overview

Mercy Corps is seeking a dedicated Senior Global Benefits Coordinator to join their People and Strategy Team. This position is responsible for supporting the administrative responsibilities of the Compensation and Benefits teams, ensuring that benefits meet the needs of team members across 40+ global locations. The Coordinator will assist in administering compensation, benefits, and wellness programs for both US-based and international expatriate staff. They will play a crucial role in supporting the Manager Global Benefits in enhancing talent attraction, retention, performance, and development initiatives globally.

Responsibilities

  • Support US and non-US benefits programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Communicate with insurance providers and monitor payroll deductions.
  • Contribute to the completion of accurate financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with escalated HR requests promptly.
  • Support compliance of benefit plans with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Reconcile and process complex benefit-related invoices for approval and payment.
  • Ensure timely payment to vendors and initiate monthly reconciliations.
  • Provide first-level support concerning benefits to managers and team members.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of administrative experience.
  • Familiarity with employee benefits, wellness, and program designs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suites.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver advanced-level administrative support.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to collaborate and foster positive relationships.
  • Flexible approach and ability to manage complex projects consistently.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain composure during challenging situations.
