Position Summary:

As a Staff Attorney, you will provide legal representation to unaccompanied children and mentor pro bono attorneys. You will perform legal research, formulate legal strategies, conduct client interviews, and represent clients before immigration courts and agencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide legal representation and mentoring to KIND clients and pro bono attorneys.
  • Supervise interns and non-attorney staff as needed.
  • Build relationships with pro bono attorneys and facilitate case placements.
  • Develop pro bono training resources and present trainings to attorneys and community groups.
  • Contribute to overall office functioning and ensure accurate case data entry.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • J.D. and admitted to the local state.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Minimum of 1 year of immigration law experience, preferably with humanitarian claims.
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable populations.
  • Strong cultural competence and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $67,440 – $84,300 a year
