Job Overview

The New Roots Coordinator oversees the urban gardening and food access program in Denver, providing opportunities for refugees and immigrants. Responsibilities include program management, partnership development, participant communication, workshops, and supervision of staff/volunteers.

Major Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Develop, implement, and evaluate New Roots programming, including community gardening and food security initiatives.
  • Participant Communication & Workshops: Coordinate program activities, provide support to participants, and organize workshops on gardening and food system navigation.
  • Supervision and Program Oversight: Recruit and supervise interns/volunteers, facilitate team meetings, and review program materials.
  • Tracking: Manage data collection, track progress, and contribute to grant writing and reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Agronomy, Business, Non-profit Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years related work experience.
  • Understanding of urban agriculture and program planning.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required; bilingual ability preferred in French, Arabic, or Dari.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Working Environment

  • Hybrid remote/in-person work with occasional travel around the Denver metro area.
