About the Role

The Central and West Africa (CEWA) team at NDI seeks a French-speaking Program Manager to oversee the planning, design, implementation, and management of designated programs. This role involves managing complex programs with significant funding, technical difficulty, or specialization across multiple field offices and locations.

Your Purpose and Impact

  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of program management, ensuring effective execution of established work plans.
  • Resource and Guidance: Provide guidance to team members on programmatic procedures, tasks, and assignments.
  • Work Plan Development: Lead the development of detailed work plans to achieve program objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration across teams to coordinate program activities and ensure alignment with institutional strategies.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Conduct analysis to determine program impacts and present findings with recommendations.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets, grants, and expenditures for assigned programs, ensuring adherence to budget limitations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with field staff, funding agencies, and partners to support program implementation and articulate funding proposals.
  • Training and Development: Support onboarding and training for team members and actively engage in professional development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in International Relations, Political Science, or related field.
  • Professional fluency in French.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in international development or a similar field.
  • Prior international field work experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in one or more of NDI’s international development disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic database skills.

Anticipated salary range: $70,300 – $87,900.

  • Successful candidates must be residents of MD, DC, or VA, or relocate prior to employment.
