Job Overview:

The Volunteer Coordinator facilitates the integration of refugees and immigrants by leading community programs. Responsibilities include community engagement, outreach, event planning, volunteer recruitment, and client support.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute community engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with IRC staff to promote organization’s work.
  • Conduct outreach activities and events.
  • Foster connections between clients and volunteers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
  • Ensure timely service delivery and documentation.
  • Coordinate donation programs.
  • Utilize personal vehicle for client and material transportation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in community development or volunteer coordination preferred.
  • Familiarity with refugee and immigrant populations preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English required; Dari and Pashto skills desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
