The Yugo GV was marketed as an affordable(priced at just $ 3,990) compact car that could compete with Honda and Toyota. However, this Yugoslavian-made car quickly gained a reputation for being poorly made and unreliable.

The car lacked an air conditioner and was extremely slow, running on a 1.1-liter four-cylinder engine that was later upgraded to a 1.3-liter engine. It even earned its joke: “Why do Yugos have heated rear windows? To keep your hands warm while you push it.”
