Job Description

Scope of Work:
The Youth Success Specialist focuses on supporting the academic success and social integration of newly arrived refugee and asylee youth. This role involves implementing the Refugee Youth Mentorship Project (RYMP) and providing individual case management services to youth participating in after-school and Saturday programming.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop individual learning plans and conduct regular check-ins with high school youth to monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify mentorship opportunities for youth.
  • Update training materials and resources for mentors.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and service plans in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Accompany students to meetings with counselors and teachers, advocating on their behalf as needed.
  • Lead community outreach to identify external services for student support.
  • Enforce program expectations and create safe learning environments.
  • Organize group activities with mentors and mentees.
  • Supervise interns or volunteers within the program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with youth, preferably in educational settings.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Availability for some evening and weekend hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:
The role involves standard office work with occasional work in schools and client homes. Some work outside traditional business hours may be required.
