How to Grow, Harvest, and Care for Your Pumpkin

Choose the Right Pumpkin Variety

Choose from diverse pumpkin varieties: Jack-o'-Lanterns for carving, Pie Pumpkins for cooking, Ornamental and Mini Pumpkins for decoration.

Prepare Your Garden

Prepare your garden for pumpkins: use nutrient-rich, slightly acidic soil, select a sunny site, and till soil with compost and fertilizer.

Plant Your Pumpkin Seed

Plant pumpkin seeds after the last frost date. Start indoors or direct sow. Plant 1 inch deep, 3-4 feet apart, and water consistently.

Pumpkin Care and Maintenance

Care for growing pumpkins with regular deep watering, balanced fertilizing every 3-4 weeks, and weed control through mulching and manual weeding.

Managing pumpkin pests

Manage pumpkin pests like squash bugs and aphids with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Prevent diseases with good air circulation and fungicides. Use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for effective control.

Storing Your  Harvested pumpkins

Store pumpkins in a cool, dry place (50-55°F, 60-70% humidity) for longevity. Enjoy them in pies, soups, roasted seeds, and more.
