Job Overview

The Global Data Scientist position, within the External Relations (ER) department, plays a crucial role in providing data-driven insights to support the IRC’s fundraising efforts. Collaborating closely with the Associate Director, Mass Marketing Analytics, the Global Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics projects aimed at enhancing fundraising strategies and optimizing resource allocation.

Major Responsibilities

  • Translate broad questions into actionable analysis to drive strategy and inform senior leadership.
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics products to improve fundraising efforts (e.g., predictive modeling, longitudinal testing).
  • Develop comprehensive data models and reports for external benchmarking to assess performance and identify opportunities.
  • Monitor trends in key performance indicators and analyze behavior of key donor segments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure best practices in analytics and reporting.

Person Specification

Skills and Competencies:

  • Curiosity and willingness to explore complex problems.
  • 4+ years of experience in data science and/or statistics.
  • Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data visualization.
  • Experience with R, Python, or Stata for statistical analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in advanced quantitative methods and fundraising analytics.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, web analytics tools, and CRM technology.
  • Knowledge of mixed media modeling, incrementality testing, and attribution modeling.

Working Environment

  • Standard office working environment with potential for international travel.
  • Fully remote work arrangement with occasional requirement for shared workspace.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual compensation ranges from $100,000 to $110,000, based on factors including location, experience, and skills.
